Totally agree. Imo the problem is that the comedy tag is thrown around too loosely in general. Considering how deeply rooted comedy is in Japanese culture, most manga will have some sort of comedic elements. At the time of writing, if you search AniList for the "Comedy" genre, the results in order are: 1. Chainsaw Man 2. ONE PIECE 3. My Hero Academia 4. One-Punch Man 5. SPY x FAMILY 6. Horimiya 7. Kaguya-sama: Love Is War 8. Dandadan 9. Hunter x Hunter 10. Black Clover 11. Komi Can't Communicate 12. Haikyu!! 13. My Dress-Up Darling 14. SAKAMOTO DAYS 15. Dr. STONE 16. Dorohedoro 17. Fullmetal

Spy x Family is amazing.

I wanted to say Punpun but honestly not sure it qualifies, he does make efforts to improve sometimes and it’s definitely a grounded view on depression/trauma but it’s hard to say he’s actively working on improving his situation. More like he finds a coping mechanism and things are better for a while, before he self-sabotages or some new horrible thing happens to him Maybe March comes in like a Lion? Feel like it’ll be hard to avoid improving through finding a hobby/passion as this is a very realistic way to drag people out of misery and a lot of popular stories do it for a reason. This may
