Phantom Thief Jeanne

r/shoujo · I’m in desperate need of more gymnastics-themed manga/anime😭

While it's not the main focus of the series, Maron in Kamikaze Kaito/Phantom Thief Jeanne does rhythmic gymnastics.

Tbh not completely the same but does have some similarities, Phantom thief Jeanne comes to mind? A magical girl series where the protagonist “steals” corrupted paintings but sometimes gets interrupted by a mysterious masked figure. Somewhat of an enemies to lovers, a male lead somewhat reminiscent of Adrien and a general light vibe through the series. Mostly recommend it since I really like miraculous and feel like even if it’s hard to explain how they similar it could be what you’re looking for!

Seconding it, both Miraculous Ladybug and Phantom Thief Jeanne share the vibe and the tension between the love interests

You want Phantom Thief Jeanne. I will forever and always as much as I enjoyed miraculous consider it a slight rip off. Both characters have a tiny companion (Jeanne has angels instead of kwamis), the FL’s best friend is constantly trying to uncover her identity, the love square, the demon/akuma being housed in a specific item. The whole shebang. Like when you really sit them down side by side, a lot of the similarities are wild as far as the shows foundation. Just keep in mind Jeanne has an older target audience than Miraculous, and is an older series so there are some crude jokes from the ML
