r/mangarecommendations · Don't know if these are still in vogue now but I wanted to post my current manga rankings and greedily collect more recommendations yumyumA Bride’s Story is great. Haikyuu!! for a sports manga, it’s my favourite. Blue Period is beautiful, it’s about a boy discovering he wants to be an artist slightly later than usual. Dragon Head is almost never brought up much and I really liked that one.
r/manga · People are way too generous with the "romcom" label when recommending mangaTotally agree. Imo the problem is that the comedy tag is thrown around too loosely in general. Considering how deeply rooted comedy is in Japanese culture, most manga will have some sort of comedic elements. At the time of writing, if you search AniList for the "Comedy" genre, the results in order are: 1. Chainsaw Man 2. ONE PIECE 3. My Hero Academia 4. One-Punch Man 5. SPY x FAMILY 6. Horimiya 7. Kaguya-sama: Love Is War 8. Dandadan 9. Hunter x Hunter 10. Black Clover 11. Komi Can't Communicate 12. Haikyu!! 13. My Dress-Up Darling 14. SAKAMOTO DAYS 15. Dr. STONE 16. Dorohedoro 17. Fullmetal
r/mangarecommendations · For a teen who needs some hope/representationIt must be nice to have an older sibling just like you! Here are my recommendations: bocchi the rock (socially anxious high school girl learns to play guitar and joins a band) haikyuu (sports anime, has themes about growth and resilience) a place further than the universe (slice of life, 4 schoolgirls had a life changing adventure together) march comes in like a lion (introverted hs boy who lives alone, personal growth, one of my favs) ill try to upd if i remember others...
r/mangarecommendations · For a teen who needs some hope/representationA couple sports manga recommendations: Blue Box is a positive, heart-warming romance written by a female author and features boys and girls in their teens who play sports (badminton, basketball). Also, not a female MC, but I always recommend Haikyuu!! (volleyball) to teens because the character development, emotional resilience, teamwork, etc., are top-notch. You don't need to be into sports to enjoy these manga.
