I love how even though FMA and Yomi no Tsugai are two different genres and themes; but to their core, you can realize they have similar deep thoughts and mature calculations into each of them. Just like siblings. Arakawa-sensei is truly a genius.

Smoking Behind the Supermarket being on your list is a good sign — we clearly overlap. With Monster and Chainsaw Man there too, my pick is Ajin: Demi-Human. It leans thriller more than "adult life," but the mind games stay tense the whole way, and most of the fights orbit Sato, a villain whose ethics are completely off the rails. If Monster stuck with you, this hits a similar nerve. Different angle: since FMA is your No.1, you might want to see what Hiromu Arakawa is doing now — Daemons of the Shadow Realm. It's more action-fantasy than the thoughtful adult stuff you asked for, so fair warni
