Totally agree. Imo the problem is that the comedy tag is thrown around too loosely in general. Considering how deeply rooted comedy is in Japanese culture, most manga will have some sort of comedic elements. I haven't finished it yet, because it isn't fully released where I am, but Dungeon Meshi/Delicious in the Dungeon is fitting. The plot is basically "our team member got eaten by the dragon, so we'll get back into the dungeon to save her, but we are out of money so we'll be eating monsters", which evolves into something more serious, but still easy to follow. If you are into romance, My Dress Up Darling is neat. It's basically about a dressmaker and a "closeted geek" popular girl uniting to make cosplay costumes.
