r/shoujo · What type of Ml do you think is very rare in shoujo? What types are attractive/interesting to you?

Morally dubious or grey MLs that are not rapey or possessive. For some reason it feels like the only flaws ML are allowed to have is related to them being obsessed with the FL (and sometimes being playboys). Howl is a great example of what I search for. “Shonen MC” types of ML, I would give everything to have a ML with a shonen kind of personality like Kakashi or Naruto… I think this why I like Syaoran a lot, same with the ML in Magical Girl Dandelion.

r/shoujo · [Recommendation] Complete beginner to shojo looking for hidden gems (No BL – Top 20 included for inspiration!)

I think since you like Madoka, you might probably want to look into the magical girl genre! There's a lot to choose from, but personally I've been into "Magical Girl Dandelion" (which is a newer series) Here are a couple other manga recs: \- Himitsu \~ The Top Secret \~ \- Devils and Realist (it has an anime adaptation but I wouldn't recommend it over the manga) \- Gene Bride \- Gusts and Beats \- Tetsusabi to 1000 Carat \- Otaku Vampire's Love Bite \- Studio Cabana \- Girl Crush \- Ceska of Blessing \- Fatale Game And if you change your mind about BL, please check out "Requiem
