You're using the word "average" just like the ppl ur talking about use the word "underrated", just as an empty buzzword. The type to look up the top 200 anything is not an average consumer of that thing. A casual movie watcher doesn't even know everything in iMdB top 10, if you think these type of guys are just "not into it" then you're just gatekeeping atp. If you tell the average anime viewer of Kokoro Connect, ranked 238 out of 27k on MAL, they won't know about it. If they do they'll say shit like elite ball knowledge despite it being on top 1% popularity on MAL.

The one im reading right now is a manwha called Whos That Girl, which is kind of bullshit but interesting.  Ive read a lot of them, i can tell you some just even so you know what to stay away from. The gag ones that are less heinous are star-crossed!! and yamada-kun. But theyre both unserious and go off the tracks before actually resolving literally anything. 1/2 prince seems like it would be promising but never follows through on its premise and makes the lead more feminine over time. Ouran high school kind of has a crossdressing thing but its not bodyswap and its also a gag manga. So cute i

Kokoro Connect is perfect for you, but I'm not sure how much the manga covers. I only watched the anime and that at least has a good conclusion to the romance I would say.
