r/manga · People are way too generous with the "romcom" label when recommending manga

Totally agree. Imo the problem is that the comedy tag is thrown around too loosely in general. Considering how deeply rooted comedy is in Japanese culture, most manga will have some sort of comedic elements. At the time of writing, if you search AniList for the "Comedy" genre, the results in order are: 1. Chainsaw Man 2. ONE PIECE 3. My Hero Academia 4. One-Punch Man 5. SPY x FAMILY 6. Horimiya 7. Kaguya-sama: Love Is War 8. Dandadan 9. Hunter x Hunter 10. Black Clover 11. Komi Can't Communicate 12. Haikyu!! 13. My Dress-Up Darling 14. SAKAMOTO DAYS 15. Dr. STONE 16. Dorohedoro 17. Fullmetal

Make sure the 12 year old gets some parental guidance for Kaguya-sama after the main couple (finally) gets together.
